In this study, the test results of full-scale mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls are compared with the results of 2D numerical analysis. In the first part of the test, the roller compactor as the dynamic load is applied. In the second part, the behaviour of full-scale MSE walls is studied under the strip footing load considering the preloading effects of the roller compactor. For the MSE wall, the compaction load increased the lateral earth pressure resulting in a pre-stressed condition on reinforcement layers and consequently reducing the wall deflection specially, after applying the strip footing load.
