Hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) plays a decisive role in a range of electrochemical and photoelectrochemical devices. In this work graphene nanosheets and deposited on CP(carbon paper) via electrochemical method and the nickel is deposited on the graphene CP. SEM images show the cauliflower image for nickel in the absence of graphene. but deposition of nickel on graphene based CP shows the nanoparticles without any specific shapes. electrochemical response by CV(cyclic voltammetry), LSV(linear sweep voltammetry), CA(chronoamperometry), and EIS(electrochemical impedance spectroscopy) in the presence of graphene and nickel shows a significant reduction onset potential hydrogen evolution reaction and increase current density. the as-prepared composite NiRGO exhibits much better electrocatalytic for HER activities than single Ni due to a great synergetic effect of RGO and Ni for HER.
