In this paper, the nonstandard finite difference method is applied to construct the new
finite difference scheme for an initial value problem modeled by a system of nonlinear ordinary
differential equations. For this purpose, we consider the general Rosenzweig-MacArthur
predator-prey system. The new proposed scheme has some suitable properties such as accuracy
and easiness implementation as well as preserving properties of the exact theoretical
solution of predator-prey system like positivity and elementary stability.
