In this paper CeriumSalen[N,N-bis(salicylidene) ethylenediamine] complex encapsulated indealuminated zeolite Y was synthesized by using flexible ligand method. This heterogenized catalyst was characterized by FT-IR, UV–vis spectroscopic techniques, X-ray diffraction (XRD),SEM, ICP, as well as was investigated by cyclic voltammetric studies. The amount of Ce- in the supercages of dealuminated Y zeolite was 5640 mmol/g of encapsulated zeolite. Cyclic voltammetric data indicate that the zeolite matrix facilitates the reduction of Ce(IV) to Ce(III), suggesting that it behaves like an electron-withdrawing substituent
