The use of clays in various fields is well known due to their vast abundance, low cost, low impact from both the environmental protection and resource savings point of view, and effective recycling. The high cation exchange capacity, high surface area and pore size distribution suggest their use as a good adsorbent. The modification of clay materials causes the improve the physico-chemical, rheological, and mechanical properties. Modification was performed using some methods including ion-exchange, pillared layered clays, organoclays, nanocomposites, acid- and salt-induced as well as thermally and mechanically induced modified clays. The modified clays was used in the industrial oil, catalyst, wastewater treatment, drug-delivery system, fertilizer, petrochemical industry, and environmental protection. This paper discusses the modified clays and investigated the application photodegradation of Pesticides. The effect o several parameters are studied. The improved clays are showed a good catalytic activity in the removal of pestisides and sulfur.
