In this research, the removal of methylene orange dye from industrial wastewater by polyvinyl alcohol-nano cellulose nanocomposite hydrogel was investigated. In this system, polyvinyl alcohol and iron chloride were used as a matrix agent and cross-linking agent in the presence of cellulose nanoparticles. In this research, nano-composite hydrogels are prepared without the use of toxic solvents and hazardous chemicals. The amount of absorption of orange methylene dye was studied.Various parameters such as pH, time and concentration were investigated. Absorption experiments showed that the maximum hydrogel adsorption capacity was obtained for methylene orange at pH = 4. The effect of treatment time indicated that maximum absorption occurred in the first minutes.
