Introduction: Membership of individuals in non-kin volunteer groups, especially sports groups, leads to the review and practice of social values and norms, and by strengthening solidarity and social cohesion, it provides a foundation for security and tranquility. Exploring the elements of university students' sports acculturation was the goal of the current study. Method: This research is a type of descriptive and exploratory study that has been conducted in the field. Students from Maragheh University were included in the study's statistical population. 384 people were found to be the sample size. A researcher-made questionnaire with adequate validity and reliability was employed as the data collection technique. Results: According to the study's findings, sports and socialization, sports and social inclusion, sports and values, sports and media, and sports and globalization are all components of sports acculturation. Conclusion: The development of a sports culture in universities has very positive and significant effects on the overall performance of the university. Institutionalizing sports among all university members will have positive effects such as popularizing sports among university members, professionalizing physical education and sports in universities, focusing on policy-making and oversight in university sports, and delegating and attracting participation from the non-governmental sector in university sports, among others. If the academic community turns towards sports, we will witness an increase in vitality and physical and mental health among university students.
