Abstract

To date, only Ophiovirus vaccinii (blueberry mosaic associated virus) (BlMaV) has been detected in Vaccinium spp., whose cultivation and popularity have been increasing over the years in Türkiye. Within the scope of this study, samples were collected from new blueberry production areas as well as Blacksea Region where survey studies have already been conducted, and the presence of possible new viruses and whole genome analyses of known viruses were performed using High Throughput Sequencing (HTS) and RT-PCR/Sanger sequencing technologies. For this purpose, the whole genome sequencing of 10 BlMaV isolates (5 commercial blueberry, 5 wild blueberry) obtained from different Vaccinium species were performed for the first time in our country. Thus, an important contribution was supplied to the world literature by reporting 10 whole genome sequences from our country regarding BlMaV, which was identified in 2014 and has a limited number of whole genome data are available in the Gene Bank.
