In order to investigate the effect of salinity, an experiment was conducted based on completely randomized design in three replications in the Research Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Maragheh in 2022. The salinity levels (0, 75 and 150 mM NaCl) were applied on the local cultivar Moldavian balm. After applying salinity, dry matter yield and essential oil yield were measured. The analysis of variance showed that there was no significant difference between the salinity levels for the measured traits. In other words, the local variety of Moldavian balm has tolerance for the applied salinity levels, which can be used in breeding programs.
