Graphene oxide and CdSe quantum dots in nanosensors and nano-biosensors

چکیده
A nano-biosensor based on graphene oxide (GO) and 5-carboxy fluorescein (FAM) labeled DNA was developed for the detection of deletion mutation in exon 19 of EFGR gene, which led to the lung cancer.1 A method was developed for the detection of 185delAG mutation in BRCA1 gene, which is responsible for an 85% and 63% lifetime risk of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer in women, respectively.2 Also, a new method based on CdSe quantum dots (QDs) was developed to detect 185delAG mutation in BRCA1 gene. Graphene oxide and CdSe quantum dots functionalized with small organic molecules were also developed for the detection of metal ions in aqueous solutions. 8-Hydroxyquinoline and terpyridine functionalized graphene oxide were developed for the determination and detection of Zn2+ and Fe2+ ions in aqueous solutions, even at low concentrations, respectively.3 p-Nitrophenyldiazenylphenyloxadiazole functionalized CdSe quantum dots were reported as an efficient approach for the detection of second toxic metal ion, Cd2+.4 Quantum dots capped with 8-hydroxyquinoline was applied to determination of Al3+ ions in aqueous solution. Moreover, CdSe quantum dots anchored with fluorescine was reported for Pb2+ ions detection. Also, a dual sensor polymer was developed for simultaneously detection of pH and temperature (Figure 1).5
