In order to identify free-living nematodes in East
Azarbaijan province, several soil samples were collected
from rhizosphere of the vegetations at different areas
during 2016 and 2017. The nematodes were extracted
using classic nematology techniques, and fixed and
transferred to pure glycerin. Microscopic slides from the
nematodes were prepared and the nematodes identified
based on morphological and morphometric characteristics.
Using the Identification key provided by Pena Santiago
and Sibano (2008) and other related publications As a
result, three species, Crassolabium saccatum,
Crassolabium ettersbergense and Crassolabium himalum
from Arasbaran forests and Crassolabium pumilum from
Roodghat– Sufiyan were identified, which are new reports
for Iran nematode fauna.
