Rhynchosporium commune is the causal agent of barley scald disease and is an important disease of barley. During 2012, 2013 and 2014, 135 Rhynchosporium commune single spore isolates were collected from different parts of Turkey and from those 60 isolates were selected. The mating type and prevalence of these selected isolates were determined. Duplex PCR was performed using MAT- specific primers for mating type studies. Twenty one of the 60 single spore isolates were found to be ) For the selecttion of ISRR for determination of the genetic diversity of the Rhynchosporium commune isolates. .(types -5,40 and P= 0.02). MAT1-1 type and and 39 isolates were MAT1-2 type (X2(I:1. 5 single spores isolates from different regions ,UBC 887, UBC 880, UBC 815, UBC 848, UBC 884, UBC 811, UBC 827 and UBC 850 were found to be polymorphic. . were tested with 72 ISRR primers and primers UBC 826, UBC 861, UBC 886, . This study showed that ISRR technique can be properly used for determination of genetic diversity within R. commune population.
