In a survey on soil nematode fauna of Miandoab county, West Azarbaijan province, several soil samples were collected from mountains of Baroog region in 2018. Among the extracted nematodes, one undescribed species of the genus Laimydorus was also identified. The genus Laimydorus is very resemble to the genus Dorylaimus Dujardin, 1845, but differs from it in absence of longitudinal ridges in cuticle surface. Also, it is very similar to the genus Mesodorylaimus Andrassy, 1959, but could be separated from it by having a double and high guiding ring and a very long pre-rectum in males. The new species, is characterized by its medium size body 1.5-1.8 mm long, lip region width 11.2-12.5 µm, odontostyle 18-18.8 µm long, odontophore 25-26.2 µm long, neck length 319-434 µm long, body width at mid-body 23-26.5 µm, a = 29.5-34, c = 6.9-8.3, c´ = 8.2-10, V = 42-46.5, relatively long pre-rectum, 62-75 µm, longitudinal vulva, long tail (219-237) in females as well as short and hemispherical tail, 19-22 µm long, c = 68-72, c´ = 0.77-0.84, long pre-rectum (195-205 µm long), spicules 40-45 µm long and presence of 20 copulatory supplements in males. In addition, molecular identification was carried out for the first time on this genus using D2-D3 primer for amplification of LSU-rDNA region
