چکیده Offshore wind turbines (OWTs) are constantly exposed to environmental loads such as wind, waves, and currents, which can cause structural vibrations, reduce operational efficiency, and raise safety concerns. To enhance dynamic perfor-mance and reliability, various vibration control strategies have been proposed. Among these, passive control systems are preferred due to their simplicity, low cost, high reliability in harsh offshore conditions, and independence from external energy sources and complex electronics. Compared to active and semi-active sys-tems, passive devices require minimal maintenance and offer robust performance in inaccessible marine environments. Although several review studies in the mid-2010s addressed passive control in marine structures such as platforms, no com-prehensive review focusing specifically on passive control for wind turbines has been published. This paper aims to fill this gap by reviewing recent advancements in passive control for offshore wind turbines. It examines the latest developments and innovations in this field, providing valuable insights for researchers and prac-tical guidance for engineers in selecting optimal passive vibration control strate-gies for offshore wind turbines.
